CPCU Luncheon - The Affordable Care Act and its Impacts in WA

This program will provide an overview of the Affordable Care Act, a look at the ACA nationally and in WA state, a review of the mandates and penalties for not following them. It will include and overview of the benefits and gaps in the ACA and how Project Access Northwest is working to fill these gaps.

*Melissa comes to the nonprofit sector after 25 years in the corporate world. Working as the vice president of a large appraisal firm and as a real estate appraiser, she has extensive experience with property insurance and working with insurance brokers and clients. At the age of 43 she chose to pursue her lifelong passion of working with the undeserved populations and took on the role Development Director at Project Access Northwest. Melissa has spent the last year learning about the Affordable Care Act, its benefits, it challenges and how committed people can make a difference in the health and lives of many. She will graduate in June 2016 with her master's degree in nonprofit leadership from Seattle University.
