Good Works - South Sound (IN PERSON EVENT)
Join us for our February Good Works project in the South Sound & our first in-person event since June!
Where: Emergency Food Network Distribution Center, 3318 92nd Street South Lakewood, WA 98449
When: Thursday, February 4th, Noon - 2:30 pm PST
See the Venue tab for Driving and Parking instructions
What to bring: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and a water bottle (gloves and tools will be provided).
Promoting your safety as a volunteer: Please understand that EFN must continue thier essential work to feed the most vulnerable in Pierce County. EFN volunteers are necessary to fulfill our mission. To minimize risk to volunteer and staff safety, we will be maintaining six feet between volunteers and staff as much as possible, sanitizing shared tools/surfaces, and providing gloves and masks to volunteers. Do not volunteer if you feel ill in any capacity.
If you cannot attend please consider donating directly to Emergency Food Network and Mother Earth Farm HERE! Remember, your employer may have a donation match program!
Once you register, Constant Contact will provide you a link to the Emergency Food Network's Volunteer Form/Portal, this information must be completed prior to the event date.
We look forward to seeing you at EFN’s Repacking event!
- Face coverings are required at all times.
- Closed-toe shoes are required. Volunteers in flip-flops or sandals will be unable to repack.
- If open food is being repacked, hair nets will be required – you are welcome to bring a hat to wear instead.
Volunteering with Youth: While we welcome volunteers of all ages to our farm, we do have a few guidelines when volunteering with youth. Youth age 15 and under need to volunteer with an adult. All youth need to bring a completed Parental Consent Form that we will email to you.
Adult / youth ratio for families, schools, and youth groups:
- Ages 0 - 6: Youths age 0 - 6 need to have a 1:1 youth and adult ratio.
- Ages 7 - 12: Youths age 7 - 12 need to have a 1:4 youth and adult ratio.
- Ages 13 - 15: Youths age 13-15 need to have a 1:8 youth and adult ratio.
