Rob May is a partner at the Portland, Oregon law firm Kilmer, Voorhees & Laurick. His practice focuses on serving the insurance industry in defense of first party and bad faith litigation, defense of complex casualty claims and insurance coverage in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Before attending law school Rob worked for three years as a property claim representative for State Farm. In addition to his insurance practice Rob serves as defense counsel for a number of Oregon colleges and universities including Reed College, University of Portland and Willamette University, where Rob has been a guest lecturer at the law school. He is a frequent presenter for national and local insurance organizations including the 2015 CPCU annual meeting in Indianapolis and the 2015 Loss Executives Association summer conference in Newport, Rhode Island. This timely session is presented by Kevin A. Michael and Jonathan Toren of Cozen O'Connor, along with Rene McGillicuddy from AIG. Kevin A. Michael focuses his practice on complex litigation, appeals and insurance coverage matters for London Market and domestic insurers, as well as the defense of their insureds. Kevin counsels many of the world’s largest insurers on all types of insurance coverage matters, including general liability, construction risks, errors & omissions, and environmental policies. Kevin also devotes much of his practice to resolving first-party property claims and disputes. He frequently litigates coverage and bad faith cases in both state and federal court. Kevin also has extensive experience defending liquor liability, professional negligence, construction defect, and maritime claims. He handles matters at both the trial and appellate levels throughout the Pacific Northwest. Jonathan Toren has extensive experience with a wide variety of claims and issues, including directors & officers liability, E&O claims against investment advisers, broker/dealers, and other financial institutions, construction defects, architects professional liability, environmental liability, attorney malpractice, medical malpractice, intellectual property, antitrust, sexual abuse, personal injury, automobile liability, property insurance, and other complex claims. Rene McGillicuddy has 28 years of experience in risk management consulting, environmental management and casualty consulting in various commercial property and investment environments and public entities. Rene currently works for AIG as a Risk Strategist for Liability and Financial Lines Division with a focus on business consulting based on AIG Client Centric Analytics.
