“The Implications of Climate Change”

Date:  November 16, 2021

Time: Webinar opens at 11:45 am PT

Event time is Noon-1pm PT

Please join our Chapter in a discussion with Elise Farnham of llumine Consulting, around the effects of Climate Change on our insurance market.  We will review the science behind climate change – what is causing climate change, how it is impacting the planet, how weather conditions and events are changing because of it.  We will analyze statistics regarding weather related events over the last century and review predictions based on weather patterns.  This will include an evaluation of new insurance products and services being developed to respond to the changing exposure.

Climate change will significantly impact the insurance industry.  New challenges, new coverages, and a changing loss environment will require that insurance professionals acquire new skills and expertise.  This interactive program will explore the implications of climate change and what that will mean to insurance professionals.

From this program, attendees will learn

  • The science behind climate change and what is predicted for the future
  • The impact of weather events on casualty and property exposures
  • How the industry has responded through research and development
  • What they will need to be prepared for the changing environment and needs of the consuming public

By attending attendees will acquire extensive knowledge about the issues surrounding climate change and how this will impact their ability to serve the changing needs of the insurance consumer.
